Common procedures
Common procedures are those procedures for which a decision is taken by the ECB, regardless of the significance of the credit institution concerned. These are procedures for:
- authorisations to take up the business of a credit institution (including an authorisation to provide certain financial services/extension of the existing licence);,
- withdrawals of such authorisations (including withdrawal to provide certain financial services);
- the assessment of acquisitions of qualifying holding;
- (mixed) financial holding companies.
The SSM Regulation defines 'common procedures', and the SSM Framework Regulation determines how the ECB and the CNB (or another national competent authority) are involved in these common procedures.
