Credits to the accounts by simple book entry means a transaction initiated and executed by the Reporting entity by transfer to the payment account of its payment service user based on a contract with the user and without a specific payment order.

Debits from the accounts by simple book entry means a transaction initiated and executed by the Reporting entity by transfer from the payment account of its payment service user based on a contract with the user and without a specific payment order.

Data presented in this Report are collected on the basis of the Decision on the obligation to submit data on the payment system and electronic money (Official Gazette 147/2013 and 16/2017) and the accompanying Instructions.

This Report presents national payment transactions of credits to and debits from the payment accounts, initiated and executed by the credit institution by transfer to/from the payment account of its payment service user, based on a contract with the user and without a specific payment order.

The data in this Report refer to the total number/value of transactions during the reporting period, i.e. month, including the first and the last day in the month.

DEFINITIONS AND DESCRIPTIONS

  1. Consumer

'Consumer' means a natural person who, in payment service contracts covered by the Payment System Act (Official Gazette 66/2018 and 114/2022) is acting for purposes other than his/her trade, business or profession.

  1. Non-consumer

'Non-consumer' means a legal or natural person other than the consumer.

The following are included:

  • legal persons (e.g. corporates, institutions, cooperatives, associations, foundations etc.), craftsmen and other natural persons employed as freelancers or carrying out an economic activity when entering into a contract on payment services or a contract on the issuing of electronic money within the area of their economic activity or freelance occupation,
  • entities that do not have legal personality, but that may be owners of payment accounts (e.g. bodies of state administration, representative offices etc.).
  1. Credits to the accounts by simple book entry

'Credits to the accounts by simple book entry' means a transaction initiated and executed by the credit institution by transfer to the payment account of its payment service user based on a contract with the user and without a specific payment order.

The following is included:

  • interest accrual by the credit institution (deposit interest);
  • the transfer of the amount of a granted credit line from the credit institution's account to credit the credit beneficiary's payment account that is operated by the credit institution itself if the transfer is executed on the basis of a credit agreement and without a specific payment order, etc.

The following is not included:

  • the transfer of the amount of a granted credit line from the credit institution's account to credit the payment account of the payment service user, other than the credit beneficiary, which account is operated by the credit institution;
  • the transfer of the amount of a granted credit line from the credit institution's account to credit the credit beneficiary's payment account that is operated at another payment service provider (reported under 'Credit transfer');
  • the disbursal of the granted credit line amount in cash (reported under 'Cash'), etc.
  1. Debits from the accounts by simple book entry

'Debits from the accounts by simple book entry' means a transaction initiated and executed by the credit institution by transfer from the payment account of its payment service user based on a contract with the user and without a specific payment order.

The following is included:

  • the transfer of the amount of interest from the user's payment account to the credit institution's account (lending interest);
  • the transfer of the amount of fees from the user's payment account to the credit institution's account (e.g. account management fee);
  • the transfer of the amount of the credit instalment/annuity from the payment account of the payment service user (as a rule, the credit beneficiary) to the account of the credit institution if such a transfer is agreed by the credit agreement;
  • commissions, fees, etc. for individual payment transactions, when charged by transfer from the payment account of the payment service user and without a specific payment order, etc.

The following is not included:

Fees, commissions, etc., charged for payment transactions completed through the payment card (e.g. cash withdrawal) and charged by debiting the payment card, as well as membership fees for the issued payment instrument charged through the payment card (i.e., not charged from the payment account), etc.

  1. National payment transaction

'National payment transaction' means a payment transaction the execution of which involves a payer's payment service provider and a payee's payment service provider, or only one payment service provider, which operate in the Republic of Croatia in accordance with Article 5 of the Payment System Act (Official Gazette 66/2018 and 114/2022).

DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FIELDS OF THE REPORT

  1. Line 'CREDITS to the payment account – Credit'

The line 'CREDITS to the payment account – Credit' shows data on the transfer of the amount of the granted credit from the credit institution's account to the credit beneficiary's payment account that is operated by the credit institution itself, when the transfer of the credit is executed on the basis of a credit agreement and without a specific payment order.

  1. Line 'CREDITS to the payment account – Interest and fees'

The line 'CREDITS to the payment account – Interest and fees' shows data on interest accruals on the payment account of its payment service user, when the accrual is executed without a specific payment order, in accordance with the terms of the agreement.

  1. Line 'CREDITS to the payment account – Other'

The line 'CREDITS to the payment account – Other' shows data on other credits to the payment accounts of users of the credit institution's payment services without a specific payment order and in accordance with the terms of the agreement, which cannot be classified into categories, i.e. lines Credit or Interest and fees (e.g. payment of dividend without a payment order).

  1. Line 'DEBITS from the payment account – Credit'

The line 'DEBITS from the payment account – Credit' shows data on the transfer of the amount of the credit instalment/annuity (in the total amount, i.e. the principal and interest aggregately) from the payment account of its payment service user (as a rule, the credit beneficiary) to the credit institution's account, without a specific payment order when such a transfer is agreed by the credit agreement.

  1. Line 'DEBITS from the payment account – Interest and fees'

The line 'DEBITS from the payment account – Interest and fees' shows data on the transfers of the amounts of interest and fees from the payment account of its payment service user to the credit institution's account, when charging is executed without a specific payment order and in accordance with the terms of the agreement.

  1. Line 'DEBITS from the payment account – Other'

The line 'DEBITS from the payment account – Other' shows data on other debits from the payment accounts of users of the credit institution's payment services without a specific payment order and in accordance with the terms of the agreement, which cannot be classified into categories, i.e. lines Credit or Interest and fees.
