Marking the 350th anniversary of the founding of the University of Zagreb, the Croatian National Bank issued on 23 September this year new commemorative gold and silver coins. The central part of the obverse of the new gold and silver coins features a motif of a book bearing the official logo of the University of Zagreb, which is handed from hand to hand, symbolising the transfer of knowledge, while the central part of the reverse of the coins features a graphically stylised presentation of the central risalit with the staircase of the building of the University of Zagreb and the sculpture by Ivan Meštrović "History of Croats”.
