Ivana Čičak and Frane Banić from the Economic Analysis Department presented yesterday the working versions of scientific papers on the 5th International Statistical Conference "Data Analytics: Future Career on Demand", organized by the Croatian Statistical Society in Opatija.

In her paper "Employment structure analysis and estimation of working from home potential in Croatia by counties" Ivana Čičak analyses the dynamics of working from home in Croatian counties due to the coronavirus pandemic. Existing work patterns have changed significantly in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic when many workers suddenly switched offices to homes, with preliminary results showing that the number of people working from home almost doubled in 2020 compared to 2019, but is still below the estimated potential of 33% in Croatia.

Frane Banić, in the paper "The assessment of fiscal reaction function to inflationary shock in Croatia", co-authored with assoc. prof Irena Palić, Ph.D. from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, assessed the function of fiscal response with a disaggregated approach by observing the impact of price level changes on the revenue and expenditure sides of the budget, as well as the discretionary fiscal policy response measured by the cyclically adjusted primary balance in a period of elevated inflation in Croatia.
