In cooperation with the Croatian Mint, the Croatian National Bank has issued commemorative gold and silver coins marking the 300th anniversary of the Sinjska Alka, 1715 – 2015, a traditional knights' tournament, whose symbolism and cultural value have been recognised and appreciated both in the Republic of Croatia and by international cultural institutions. The commemorative gold and silver coins, minted as proof, were released for sale on 2 August 2014.

The decision on the issue and sale was published in the Official Gazette 86/2014, 121/2016 and 109/2017.
The commemorative gold and silver coins were designed by the sculptors:
Kuzma Kovačić (commemorative 1,000 kuna gold coin);
Luka Petrinjak (commemorative 20 kuna gold coin);
Stjepan Divković (commemorative 200 kuna silver coin).
The issue was minted by the Croatian Mint.
The Croatian National Bank has contractually agreed to undertake the promotion and sale of this issue with the Croatian Mint.
