President Mesić visits central bank

President of the Republic of Croatia Stjepan Mesić with his associates visited today the Croatian National Bank where he was informed of the conditions and actions of the central bank as an independent monetary authority. Governor Željko Rohatinski PhD and other members of the CNB Council informed President Mesić and other guests of the results achieved over the last two and a half years of their mandate, as well as of the latest measures taken for the purpose of maintaining macroeconomic stability, internal and external liquidity and other preconditions for a sound and sustainable growth of the Croatian economy. Minister of Finance Mato Crkvenac PhD, who also participated in the meeting, reported on the efforts and effects of the executive power in regulating government finances and in stimulating the economic activity, developmental investments and exports.

After the conclusion of this meeting, the CNB Council held its regular meeting where the report on international reserves management in the previous year was confirmed and a new decision was adopted on the method of reserve management in the future. Additionally, the members of the CNB Council accepted the proposal of the supervisory board to reappoint Gordana Zrinšćak as chairwoman and Ljiljana Podhraški and Ružica Vađić as members of the management board of Centar banka d.d. Zagreb, and to appoint Margareta Šćulac as member of the management board of Riadria banka d.d. Rijeka and Angelina Horvat as chairwoman and Elvis Mališ as member of the management board of Slatinska banka d.d. Slatina.
