New tender to be launched for the concept and design for the national side of the Croatian euro coins bearing the marten motif

The Currency Committee, as the standing expert body of the CNB Council conducting the tender for the selection of the national side of the Croatian euro coins, late in the evening of 6 February 2022 received a statement from Stjepan Pranjković declaring that he withdrew his draft design for the marten motif and renounced all rights pertaining to him on the basis of his participation in the tender. At its meeting today, the Currency Committee accepted his decision to withdraw his draft design for the marten motif.

In order to eliminate any further uncertainties, doubts or ambiguities relating to the choice of design for the national side of the euro coins bearing the marten motif, the Currency Committee decided to publish and implement a new open tender for the selection of the concept and design for the national side of the Republic of Croatia on the 1 euro coin featuring the marten motif.

The CNB emphasises that all authors participating in the tender were required to submit a written guarantee confirming that their work was an original intellectual creation made exclusively for the purpose of the tender and that all tender participants provided such a guarantee.

The CNB wishes to thank the Croatian public, which has participated in the selection procedure for the motifs to be displayed on the national side of the Croatian euro coins from its very beginning, for its active role in timely recognising the seriousness of this important procedure.

The new tender for the design of the national side of the 1 euro coin bearing the marten motif will not jeopardise the timely production of the Croatian euro coins.
