The Croatian National Bank issued and put up for sale commemorative 500 kuna gold coins "The 10th Anniversary of Hrvatski drzavni sabor - May 30, 1990 - May 30, 2000" to mark the constitution of the democratic, multi-party Croatian Parliament, the holder of legislative power in Croatia, on May 30 1990, after multi-party elections.

The commemorative gold coin is minted in gold (purity 986/1000), weighs 3.5 g. and has a diameter of 18 mm. Total issue of the coin amounts 500 pieces.

The coin was minted by applying special techniques which resulted in the brilliant surface decorated with opaque plastic details showing the facade of the Parliament building (the obverse of the coin) and large Parliament Hall during a session of the House of Representatives (the reverse of the coin).

The obverse of the 500 kuna gold coin was designed by Mr. Kuzma Kovacic and the reverse of the coin by Mr. Kazimir Hraste, both academy trained sculptors.
