The new 20 kuna banknote, bearing the date of issue March 7, 2001, will be put into circulation on August 16, 2001.
The new banknote has the same design as the previous banknote of the same value, which bears the date of issue October 31, 1993 and which remains in circulation as the official legal tender.
Improved cotton base has been used in the making of the new 20 kuna banknote and upgraded security features have been introduced. The banknote bears the signature of Dr. Zeljko Rohatinski, the present Governor of the Croatian National Bank.
