Dubrovnik Conference

The 30th Dubrovnik Economic Conference opened today. This international conference organised by the CNB is a traditional meeting and a place of dialogue between distinguished scientists and representatives of financial institutions, central banks and the financial sector from Croatia, Europe and the world.

The first day of the conference will be dedicated to the analysis of the formation of inflation expectations, decision-making models in central banks, changes in global supply chains and the impact of monetary policy on credit and deposit interest rates of commercial banks.

The second day of the conference will discuss the "green transition" of central and commercial banks and the impact of population ageing on public debt and monetary policy.

The conference was opened by Boris Vujčić, CNB Governor, and then addressed on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Croatia by Zvonimir Savić, Special Advisor for Economic Issues to Prime Minister Andrej Plenković. This year's conference is also attended by Philip Lane, Chief Economist of the European Central Bank, Martins Kazaks, Governor of Latvijas Banka, Mario Centeno, Governor of Banco de Portugal, Boštjan Vasle, Governor of Banka Slovenije, Amir Yaron, Governor of the Central Bank of Israel, Agnés Bénassy-Quéré, Deputy Governor of Banque de France and Barnabas Virag, Deputy Governor of Magyar Nemzeti Bank.

The President of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde, will also address the participants of the Dubrovnik Economic Conference.
