At its session today, the Croatian National Bank Council reviewed recent economic and monetary developments, enacted the Decision Governing the Conditions for and the Manner of Opening and Managing Non-Resident Bank Accounts as well as adopted amendments to the Decision on the Conditions for Issuing Approvals for Opening Foreign Exchange Accounts Abroad. This continues the harmonisation of Croatian regulations with the acquis communautaire, aiming at further liberalisation of the foreign exchange system paired with the parallel tightening of provisions relating to account opening by off-shore companies or companies from uncooperative jurisdictions.
The CNB Council approved the proposal by the Supervisory board of Partner banka d.d. for the re-appointment of Marija Šola as the Chairperson of the Management Board of that bank.
The CNB Council also authorised the issue and the release for sale of several different commemorative silver 150 kuna coins. The coin commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Nikola Tesla, the famous scientist, will be issued in up to 5 thousand pieces and the coin dedicated to the 2008 Olympic Games in China in up to 20 thousand pieces. The third coin, dedicated to the 2006 FIFA World Cup - Germany, will thus be issued for the second time in up to 10 thousand pieces, however, with changed features. Its first issue was successfully marketed last year in co-operation with a foreign partner. All three commemorative silver coins will be available for sale on 20 November 2006.
