European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services Michel Barnier accompanied by Paul Vandoren, Head of the Delegation of the EU to the Republic of Croatia, and a number of associates today visited the Croatian National Bank.
The main talking points with Governor Boris Vujčić and other members of the central bank's management included the functioning of the Single Market in the financial services area, the creation of a European banking union with a single banking supervision mechanism and the condition of and main challenges facing Croatia's banking system.
The distinguished EU guests showed interest in this country's potential plans for joining the single European banking supervision scheme and expressed their willingness to provide support and cooperate in this process.
