In cooperation with Riječka banka d.d., and within the Famous Croatian Women commemorative coin series, the Croatian National Bank issued a commemorative silver coin dedicated to Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić, a leading Croatian children's author, whose books have been widely translated and who was twice nominated for the Nobel Prize in literature.
Minted in proof quality, the coin was released for sale on 18 November 1998.

The Decision on the issue and sale of the commemorative silver coin "Ivana Brlić Mažuranić" was published in the Official Gazette No. 147/1998, 34/2010, 120/2010, 128/2012 and 109/2017.
The design of the silver coin is by the sculptor Stjepan Divković.
This issue was minted by the Croatian Mint.
