The Croatian National Bank started conducting the Bank lending survey in October 2012. The survey is conducted four times a year, at the end of each quarter. The survey aims to provide an insight into the developments in bank lending standards and conditions (loan supply) and the changes in loan demand in Croatia. The questionnaire is completed by bank managers responsible for credit operations of banks with enterprises and households. Survey results help in understanding credit market developments and thus support the analytical and research tasks of the central bank. Also, survey results are used to inform the business community and the general public. The results are shown by means of the net percentage, with values ranging from –100 to +100. The responses are weighted by the shares of individual banks in total loans to enterprises and households respectively. The Bank lending survey is methodologically aligned with the Euro area bank lending survey conducted by the European Central Bank.
