In cooperation with the Croatian Mint, the Croatian National Bank issued a commemorative silver coin honouring Benedikt Kotruljević, a 15th century economist, renowned in Croatia and worldwide; his seminal book The Art of Trading describes the nature and functioning of entrepreneurship and gives a full account of double-entry bookkeeping, which at present times still has a world-wide application.
Minted in proof quality, the coin was released for sale on 25 February 2008.

The Decision on the issue and sale of the commemorative silver coin from the "Bendikt Kotruljević" series was published in the Official Gazette No. 22/2008, 34/2010, 120/2010, 128/2012 and 109/2017.
The design of the silver coin is by the sculptor Damir Mataušić.
This issue was minted by the Croatian Mint.
The Croatian National Bank has contractually agreed to undertake the promotion and sale of this issue with the Croatian Mint.
